The Right Move
|
Tom and Mary were new to Watertown. Just six days after moving, Mary came to the Emergency Department at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Everyone moved quickly to make sure she got the care she needed and that the family was taken care of. “They (ER) had Mary’s health history within 10 minutes, I was astonished on how fast they could make things happen”, says Tom. “We truly felt comfortable and like we were ‘home’.”
Today Mary is getting better every day; the pacemaker has helped immensely. She can do her everyday activities again. Tom expresses his gratitude toward the WRMC team, “I transported patients in an ambulance for many years. After a patient would recover, I would see them out and they would thank me with tears in their eyes for helping them during a scary moment. I never could truly understand what they felt, but after this experience I understand what it’s like to be on the other side and I am very grateful for WRMC and their care during a difficult time.”
