Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) is pleased to partner with Tomorrow’s Hope to bring back Yarn Extravaganza 2016 to our community. Beginning this July, designated trees on WRMC’s campus will be decorated with lively knitted and crocheted wraps. It’s called yarn bombing, and it’s all for a great cause—helping to build a stronger, healthier community.
Individuals, businesses and community groups are invited to “adopt” a tree. Sponsorship per tree is $100 and half of net proceeds can be earmarked for our community. To learn more about the event, or to sponsor a tree, please visit www.tomorrowshope.org. Donations are also always welcome, and can be earmarked for our community.
Knitters and crafters, if you are interested in donating your skills (no sponsorship needed!), please contact WRMC’s Wellness Navigator, Ashley Nelson, at 920.206.3145. Yarn donations are also being accepted.
Trees may be adopted now through July. WRMC will host a tree-decorating event in mid-July, to coincide with HopeFest, the signature fundraising event of Tomorrow’s Hope (the weekend of July 15th and 16th). Yarn decorations will stay on display for several months.
Tomorrow's Hope works to foster health related research, education and support activities that have a direct impact on residents of Southeastern Wisconsin. All funds are used locally. In Watertown, Tomorrow’s Hope has helped support the health of our community by supporting clinic health educators, sponsoring healthy cooking classes and supporting mental health efforts.
