Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) is pleased to
announce that Urgent Care will relocate and expand to better serve patients.
Beginning Monday, October 5th the new Urgent Care clinic will be located on
WRMC’s first floor, with its own, dedicated patient entrance just south of the
hospital Main Entrance. Urgent Care will continue to serve patients from 10am
to 8pm, 7 days a week.
WRMC’s Promise of One underscores its commitment to
providing convenient access to exceptional medical care. With the new Urgent
Care location, additional exam rooms will decrease wait times for patients. In
addition, new spaces designed specifically for pediatric patients will enhance
WRMC’s ability to provide a more personalized experience for children and their
families.
Urgent Care offers convenient, walk-in access to expert
medical care for non-emergency illness and injury. The extended-hour clinic
treats common problems that could also be seen in a clinic by a primary care
provider, such as coughs and fevers, ear infections, sprains and strains, and
minor lacerations.
For serious and potentially life-threatening medical
concerns, WRMC’s Emergency Department will remain in the current location, and
continues to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency care is appropriate
for life-threatening illness or injury, including (but not limited to)
conditions such as:
•
Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
•
Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure
•
Fainting, sudden dizziness, weakness
•
Changes in vision, difficulty speaking
•
Confusion or changes in mental status
•
Any sudden or severe pain, unusual abdominal pain
•
Uncontrolled bleeding, coughing or vomiting blood
•
Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
