Hospitalist physicians have been part ofWatertown Regional Medical Center team since 2007. Our board-certified hospitalists on staff help provide the highest quality and care for you from admission through discharge.
Hospitalists are internal medicine physicians uniquely trained in caring for you while you are in the hospital. Because their medical practices are exclusively within a hospital, these specialists are able to devote personal attention and time to every patient. And because they encounter serious medical needs every day, hospitalists have proven expertise in treating acute illnesses, injuries and other serious medical conditions.
During your stay at our medical center, a hospitalist manages all aspects of your care, with services including examinations, making diagnoses, ordering tests, providing treatments, prescribing medications and arranging your discharge and post-hospital care.
With a hospitalist on staff, specialized care is available immediately — around the clock. New treatments, follow-up tests, medications, meal changes and discharge can be ordered to best meet your needs and your changing condition. Research has shown that a hospitalist’s ability to modify treatments immediately and facilitate connections within the hospital, helps you recover and return home faster. It gives you the peace of mind knowing that a doctor is always available, so you can focus on getting better.
